Non-Medical Treatments

Acupuncture

Acupuncture is the insertion of sterile, ultra-thin needles into specific acupuncture points on the body that when needled, can regulate the way in which the body functions. Acupuncture has been used to treat many causes of infertility and can help with relaxation while proceeding with infertility treatments.

Psychology

Infertility can be emotional and stressful. A psychologist or counselor can help guide individuals and/or couples through the process, discuss emotions, and help provide coping strategies.

Timed Intercourse

If a woman has regular menstrual cycles, then she can try to determine the day of ovulation by checking her basal body temperature or with ovulation predictor kits. Ideally timed intercourse should occur every two days starting on approximately day 10 of the cycle. Once a positive ovulation kit is obtained, then timed intercourse should occur on the following two days.
